Wisteria Hysteria hits Florence

Wisteria Florence

Every year in the beginning of April the Wisteria Hysteria takes over Florence when the gorgeous purple flowers start to bloom. One day the flower buds are still developing and green and when you pass the next day you’ll find yourself surrounded by an explosion of sweet smelling purple haze. Nothing screams SPRING IS HERE like the blooming of the Wisteria in Florence.

Spotting wisteria around town has become a favorite pastime of many Instagrammers and there even is the hashtag #wisteriahysteria where the best pics are shared. For the most spectacular Wisteria photos you should pay a visit to the garden of Villa Bardini. Their Wisteria covered pergola is a phenomenon in Florence and right now is the best time to see it.
